Song 5:1 I came to my garden, my sister, my bride, I gathered my myrrh with my spice, I ate my honeycomb with my honey, I drank my wine with my milk. Eat, friends, drink, and be drunk with love!
Zech 9:15-17 The LORD of hosts will protect them, and they shall devour, and tread down the sling stones, and they shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine, and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar. On that day the LORD their God will save them, as the flock of his people; for like the jewels of a crown they shall shine on his land. For how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty! Grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the young women.
Act 2:12-21 And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
Eph 5:17-21 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
There is a movement of Daddy’s Holy Spirit that has been released over the earth in this hour. It is a big deal to Him. It is a movement of joy! It is the kingdom of God on earth! It is not new, but is being renewed for these last of the last days. It is the latter of the latter rain. It started at Pentecost, and has been in God’s heart from eternity, but it’s reaching its most glorious intensity yet, in these days. And, I am excited!
I’ve wanted to write this article mainly for those who are new to understanding and hearing of this move as a ‘drunken Glory movement’. Most of you who will read this will have considered yourselves as Christians in any number of different streams or denominations. But, the term ‘drunken Glory’ may be new to you, or seem strange. I believe it is one of the most important revelations to receive because it is so key to the real heart of this last days move. If we are ashamed to call it what Daddy is calling it, and ashamed to receive it the way that Daddy wants it received, then we will miss out on its full benefits. And, we will be unfaithful to Holy Spirit.
My own experience is that of one who at first did not understand, or receive this movement. I thought that it was irreverent, silly, and fake. I told my wife not to manifest it. I didn’t speak against it, but I would mostly ignore it as unimportant, or unfruitful. How wrong I was! Oh Jesus!
There were a few key understandings that I didn’t have. I want to explain these a little for those who can’t seem to make sense of this thing.
1) I didn’t understand the Lord’s ultimate goal for mankind is to pleasure us with holy pleasures, namely HIMSELF! This sounded scandalous and selfish to me. I have now come to understand that it is the heart of the gospel, and brings the most Glory to God!!
The explanation is really simple when you are open to it. Daddy God is not looking for people to do stuff for Him. He doesn’t need help. We all know that He is bringing us along for the ride to build relationship with us! And, he wants us to live holy to establish the kingdom of God on the earth. But, this holiness is something that He does inside us. He actually does motivate us to do or work the righteousness. He motivates us by holy pleasure! And, this holy pleasure is not just a means to an end, it is also the end in itself.
The Lord gets the glory by loving us into love. He so causes us to FEEL joy, happiness, and bliss that we will be infatuated with HIM! Then, a person madly in love will easily do whatever their Lover asks!! And, what He primarily asks, is for us to love! And, love is not just an action, it is an experience that comes from the heart that manifests in desire for the good of another! Then actions will come as well.
But, in all of this, when Daddy so pleasures us, we will praise, serve, and glorify Him passionately because we want to! This is actually the whole heart of the gospel. Jesus motivates us by ‘get to’s’ not ‘have to’s’. The Old Covenant was ‘have to’s’, the New Covenant is ‘get to’s’. Hallelujah!! But, in order for a wife to want to love her husband, something must be moving inside her to give her that desire.
The desire to serve God arises within us because of the pleasure of tangibly experiencing His beautiful Presence!! The greater the pleasure He gives you, the more you want to serve and love Him, and the more energized you are to actually love! So, I began to understand that Daddy must want to give me an infinite amount of pleasure. WooooooohoooooOo! Meditate on that.
2) Now, I actually heard that theology preached for years, but there was still some other barriers that held me back in experiencing the reality. Let me attempt to break down one of those barriers.
The next barrier was a demonically inspired view of reverence, the fear of God, seriousness, and/or sober-mindedness.
The reality of God is that He is super fun, intimate, hilarious, loves to laugh, loves to play, loves to dance, tells good jokes, and doesn’t mind at all when we are the same way, even with Him!
In fact, all this talk of intimacy or holy pleasure is just religious rhetoric if we can’t play with God!
But, there are demonic lies that we often still believe as we relate to God in prayer and communion. You can feel them when you begin to pray, especially in an intentional time of prayer, and with groups. It’s the assumed position of head bowed low and hushed tones. Don’t write me off here, I know what I’m talking about.
If you can’t shout as loudly, move as freely, smile as broadly (or way more actually) when you are in a prayer time as when you are in a conversation, joking with your friends, at a concert, or at a sporting event, then something is wrong. The Presence of God is way more exciting, in fact infinitely thrilling.
And, don’t say, ‘Well, spiritual things are serious, and sober-minded, and what about the fear of the Lord?!” These things are true, but have a different understanding than most believers realize.
1 John says that fear has to do with punishment, and that perfect love casts out all fear! In the New Covenant holy fear has turned to awe for those who are in Christ. Jesus is not bashful and afraid of the Father. If you are in Christ, you can relate to the Father as Jesus does. Proverbs 8 says that Jesus was playing with the Father before the world was made!! Jesus takes the Father seriously, but He can also freely relate to Him on any and every level. And, the highest level is love! Perfect love casts out all fear. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but at the end of wisdom, there is love. Love is motivated by pleasure and happy joy. Sounds too good to be true? It is better than you can ever imagine! For real, and seriously.
Until, we allow ourselves to play freely with God, we cannot understand the depths of His heart. He is not always looking to get another project done. He is not mainly about ‘the work’. The end goal of God’s work is intimacy. Don’t you think we should allow Him that end result?
This is where all of the joking, and playful manifestations, the loud noises, the shouting, the weird stuff comes from. Now, this isn’t a free license to joke inappropriately, and you can sense by the Spirit what is appropriate. But, listen, a lot of the jokes are simply having fun with the Father, and He is encouraging it!! He loves it!! And, if He loves it, I think that makes it ok. More than ok, it makes it holy!! I didn’t like it myself, until I realized that He did! Then, I began to find playing with the Father as one of the most holy forms of prayer! One of the purest types of worship! I mean, as a father, I know that nothing is more enjoyable to me, than when my son is smiling and laughing at me!!
And, if you see some believers even drinking the Lord like a wine glass, or toking Him like a cigarette, I can honestly say that it is usually because they are playing with Daddy (although it goes deeper than that, which I will explain later). It is a sweeter intimacy to be able to play with God, than to stand trembling because God is a God more of intimacy than of terror, more of love than of fear. This is not contradictory to scripture, is the nature of progressive revelation, that we in this age have an access to God that angels fear to tread into, that most prophets of old feared, but that as God has shown us more of His heart, we now know that we can freely enter because of the cross!!!
3) Another revelation the Lord has laid as a foundation of this movement is the understanding of being drunk, high, intoxicated, or whacked, etc. on His Glory!! This is also often misunderstood, but is so central and can’t be seen as a side issue!! These terms can be easier to take when you understand playful intimacy with God. But, they have an even richer meaning as well.
The Lord’s Presence is an actual substance. He is not just an idea, or a thought, or non-existent being. Throughout the ages He has actually visibly appeared, many times as a cloud, a fire, a brightness, or in various forms. He is actually a person. Now, Jesus told us in John 4 that God is a Spirit, but that does not mean that He can not be tangibly experienced. In fact, He is all the more tangibly experienced by those who are ‘spiritually awakened’, because the spirit is the deepest part of a man (1 Cor. 2).
The most intense part of God Presence is, in fact, His GLORY. The scripture speaks often of His Glory, as an actual substance. The Hebrew word for this is kabod, which speaks of a heavy weight, and a tangible glorious object.
I call it the ‘drunken Glory movement’ because this is what the Father has told me to call it. Why? Because He is so jealous for the revelation on those words.
The word ‘drunken’ speaks of being overtaken by the person and love of Jesus Christ to the point of extremity! It speaks of being influenced by an actual substance in a way that people can relate to. Eph. 5 says don’t be drunk on wine, but be filled by the substance of the person of the Holy Spirit. This person carries the very Glory kabod of God inside of you. And, He makes you feel so good, way better than wine, alcohol, or any other pleasure!! He makes you love-drunk. This is a holy experience that the Father feels very strongly about for everyone to experience. It is the pleasure of going beyond mere rhetoric about intimacy, but being enthralled by the experience of the Divine essence!! It is shadowed by the experience of the physical consummation of human sexual love. Ecstasy!
The Christian saints and mystics of old were not unfamiliar with ecstasies, but experienced them regularly. Today, God is bringing revelation that these ecstasies are for everyone, and can be accessed any time by faith.
Some faith activators that the Lord uses seem silly, on purpose, because God wants you to laugh, and he wants to offend the mind to reveal the heart. He loves to shame the wise, and glorify the foolish in the world’s eyes.
Often the Lord will have you drink Him like a glass of wine, or toke Him like a joint. These faith activators actually go deeper than playing with God into the place of actually breathing in the atmosphere of His Glory into your physical lungs, and by faith, breathing the Glory smoke of God, which will give you pleasure beyond pleasure! He has so many pleasures, which don’t even have a point other than the pure joy of them. They all edify and build up, but don’t even have to have another end!
But, Daddy is making us familiar with types of pleasure in Him that energize us in love, and give us tangible experience of Him. They are by no means limited to what I’m sharing. But, if you are not open to drinking, and toking God then you are missing out on something He is doing. And, that is not the heart of any believer! You want this stuff if it is of God!!
In bringing this all to a close, I must prophesy here is more going on here than most of the church is comprehending right now. There is sooooo much more!! The drunken Glory is actually the chief end of man. The movement that God is doing right now has been His heart forever, but is now being revealed as the greatest move to date!! He has always been about intimacy, the real thing, not just talk. He has made it all free in Christ!! He has made it fun, just because He is fun!! And, His heart is for the whole earth to come into this love, joy, peace, and righteousness.
This IS the happy holiness that you may have heard about! This pleasure makes holiness easy!!
God is releasing waves of tangible Glory from the inside of His people that make them look crazy, drunk, mystical, and/or irreverent. But, when they are in communion, everything else flows. And, this is the place from which the wonders and miracles are coming. This is the place that makes loving the orphan and widow easy!! (Matt. 11:30)
These drunks are the most abandoned lovers, the most intense givers, and the kindest people to be around! I can say that they are my friends, and the friends of our beautiful Papa God!!!
And, this movement will take over the earth through holy sweet tangible Divine Glory love!!! Boing boom bam Jesus you love us so well!!!!
