No Distance AND No Delay!

no-distance.jpg

I am not at all against all therapy.

Sometimes it is timely and needed.

Yet, maybe I will become known as THAT GUY who pushes back on it over the next several years. LOL!

Someone needs to push back at least a little!

—————

Why didn’t the apostles & the early church emphasize many therapy modalities?

Were they just ignorant and uneducated?

Or, did they believe in the power of the Word?

If you don’t understand the mystical power of the Word Himself, you may think that hearing Him isn’t enough.

But, that underestimation of the Word can be extremely disempowering, adding significant DELAY to a person’s ability to walk in the life and freedom that Jesus has freely given!

Maybe you’ve never heard the full Gospel, or the full Gospel Himself speaking within you?

Most Christians haven’t yet.

But, to hear Christ preached aright is to experience Christ! This is why we emphasize over and over, the Person & Work of Jesus Christ!

The Word comes with a Grace to believe it. Jesus doesn’t speak things that we can’t walk in.

Many times telling people that they need therapy or inner healing will place them in a victim mentality. Not every time, but many times.

If Trinity brings something up, or someone notices an area where they just can’t seem to get free, then seeking a prayer ministry or professional therapy may be helpful, don’t get me wrong!

But, the scripture seems to indicate that HEARING THE WORD is powerful enough so that a person can live & walk free, probably most often times without years of inner healing ministries and mental health professionals.

The Gospel IS the power of God, right!?!

Otherwise, we can end up going back to what western mainstream churches have been stuck in for generations, preaching so much DELAY. Is death our Savior? Is therapy? Is the healing minister? Is our prayer model? How many sessions do we need? How many years before we can live healthy & whole & “sozo-ed?”

(I also understand that a very few of the therapies being recommended by some of our Gospel friends are actually other methods of proclaiming or ruminating on the Word.)

But, here is the simple Message:

You are full of Jesus today!

Listen to Him, and find the ability & inspiration to follow whatever He says, present within!!!

If that means He’s saying to go get therapy, then do it!

If that means He says you are fully capable to forgive and love and live whole and healthy today, then you can do that too!

He did actually heal you on the cross!!!

Walk on the Word! You have been empowered!

His finished work has made us all complete!

And, of course when you need a therapy modality to awaken to that completeness, by all means, connect in that, without shame!

But, I’m gonna be THAT guy pushing back some on the therapy & inner healing emphases for a while!

WHY?

Because it’s a young science anyways, like they all are, and because they are not highly emphasized by the early church. Because I know that you aren’t broken! I see you in Christ, complete, lacking nothing!!!

What if you weren’t so hindered by all of those things that you think are holding you back?

What if you have a totally new reference in Christ???

If Christ is living within us, then He is sharing His health, His thoughts, His emotions. You don’t have to go back and clean out every old thing. Behold the New!!!

Cheers to you!

You glorious new creation, you!!!

“I say this so that no one will deceive you with persuasive arguments. For even though I am absent in body, I am nevertheless with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your orderly manner and the stability of your faith in Christ.

Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world, rather than in accordance with Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete.”

- Colossians 2:4-10

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us toc his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world.”
